JVP-Voyager-Pro (Focused Desktop Search)

If you're tired of getting 500 files every time you search your desktop, you will love JVP-Voyager-Pro Focused Desktop Search. JVP-Voyager-Pro finds only the files you request, without irrelevant files included. You must already have the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your computer before downloading. Made for Vista, but should be okay for XP too.

Folder Search:

By Filename or Content String
1. Finds all files in the folder.
2. Lists all folders in that folder.
Recursive Search:

By Filename or Content String
1. Finds all files in the folder.
2. Finds all files in all folders in the tree of sub-folders, 4 levels deep.
Keyword Search:

1. Finds all files in the folder.
2. Finds all files in all folders in the tree of sub-folders, 4 levels deep.

If you know a file is anywhere within the path of 4 folders, the entire contents of those 4 folders can be searched for relevant files.

The Principles of Desktop Search

1. Get rid of irrelevant files. Get only files you request.
(If only one file exists, get only that one file)
2. You don't have to search the entire desktop every time.
(If you need a particular file type, look only in that area)
3. Filename and content searches should be separate.
(Searching by filename has nothing to do with content)
4. Keyword searches should guarantee all keywords are on the same page.
(Why would you type in 3 keywords if you didn't want them on the same page?)
5. Keyword searches should be for whole words only.
(A keyword is a word plus a blank space, not a pattern in a group of characters)
6. Keyword searches and content strings should be separate.
(The concept of 3 words in a row is different than 3 separate keywords)
7. Catalogs and index files can be created for particular portions of a drive.
(You don't have to index the entire hard drive)
8. Catalogs can be searched all together, or separately one at a time.
(It is important to offer this option because of relative files)
